FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Traveling to Trinidad!
Trinidad and Tobago is known for its sunny weather. Expect high heat and humidity during midday, with warm-to slightly cool early mornings and nights.
Loose, cool clothing is recommended. There are occasional rain showers, for which a light umbrella will suffice.
If you are sensitive to cold and/or AC, we recommend a sweater or shawl.
Remember to pack sunscreen.
Hats and sunglasses are also advisable due to strong sunlight during the day.
All clothing should be Ashram appropriate, therefore we ask that no tank tops, skirts or shorts be worn.
Sneakers/hiking shoes and water resistant sandals are recommended for outdoor activities that will involve walking through water or muddy areas.
There are mosquitoes on the island, so please prepare by bringing bug spray and insect repellent as needed. Lights socks can help avoid bites at night.

This can be done after arrival to the Island.
Stay at the Ashram includes three daily meals. All food is cooked fresh daily in the Ashram.
ANY allergies or dietary restrictions should be listed on the registration form PRIOR to your arrival at the Ashram.
We do have a daytime food shop of local cuisine for breakfast, snacks and lunch, as well as GARAM MASALA: our evening Indian Fine Dining restaurant.
You may purchase meals here at your own expense, however the Ashram kitchen MUST be informed MINIMUM THREE HOURS PRIOR to mealtime so that no excess food is prepared/wasted.
The Ashram accepts US$, Online Banking/ Wire transfer and Cheque made payable to “Chinmaya Mission”.
